About Renee

My Family and Me

I have been married for 35 years and have two adult children. Over the years we have enjoyed much family time together and still make time now, even in our busy adult lives, to travel together occasionally. When we get together now-a-days, which is always less than a mother wishes, we spend time playing board games and just hanging out and catching up.  When possible, we try to vacation together.

Being empty nesters, my husband and I have lots of time to enjoy personal interests, which of late is focused on crossing items off of our bucket list.  We love to travel and balance it with more local activities.  We also are active in our place of worship focusing on where we can serve others.   I am an avid biker, a walker, and a hiker.  When I’m not outdoors, I’m usually busy organizing something or reading.

Education and Experience

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Pennsylvania.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Albright College, Reading, PA. In 2008, I earned a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Evangelical Theological Seminary in Myerstown, PA, fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming a therapist and serving others on their life journeys. I am currently in private practice in West Reading, PA.

I am a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist , having completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) . My passion is helping couples reclaim their relationships with this scientifically validated and successful model of therapy.

I am a Certified EMDR Therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) , having completed the requisites in basic and advanced training to be designated as such.  I have seen how amazing EMDR is for my clients! It is a joy to witness their healing process, which has made me more confident that I can help future clients with their pain and struggles.

I am a Christian therapist and I approach life from a Christian worldview. Being a Christian is not a pre-requisite for receiving services from me, however to the extent that clients desire it, I am happy to bring the Christian faith into the therapy process. I believe God is a God of restoration and healing, and I desire to bring God’s hope, grace and truth to broken relationships, hearts, and lives.

I am committed to serving the community of faith as well as people of all faiths and backgrounds. One will not find a condemning attitude here. If you are suffering and hurting, I am honored to work with you and walk alongside you.
